At Lead Self Lead Others, we are privileged to have opportunities every single day to come alongside people and help them move toward their full potential.
We are always on the lookout for people who are stuck or who have hit a plateau in life – and who are ready to receive guidance and encouragement.
Over the years we have developed proven coaching tools and techniques that get people moving in the right direction.
We are most proud of the fact that we’ve created custom coaching plans for every single one of our 3500+ clients, because we recognize that each person is unique and therefore deserve a one-of-a-kind coaching experience. And every photo on this web site includes real-life LSLO coaches.
Coaching begins with a simple conversation with no expectations. During the initial connection, the LSLO coach will use their training to identify the best path forward for each of their clients and put that in the form of a written coaching proposal. Once the proposal has been accepted, then the first coaching appointment is set.
Although we are confident that our tools and coaching methodology would benefit anyone, we have developed a particular coaching expertise with the following:
C-Suite Executive Leaders
C-Suite Executive Leaders have unique coaching needs because they have responsibilities that involve leading and guiding the entire organization.
They are responsible for making decisions that have global impact on the culture and the entire employee group.
Also, they tend to not have anyone that they can talk to about their leadership challenges. At their level, they are supposed to “figure it out” and may have to make decisions in isolation.
CEO coaching is unique because the CEO is responsible for casting vision and using their position and influence to lead the company. We use a unique set of coaching conversations to help them develop their leadership skills and help them be most effective leading their management teams and their boards.
Some of our common coaching topics are:
- What is your vision for the company?
- Is your vision clear, consistent, and compelling to others? How do you know?
- Why do vision, mission, and values matter? How passionate are you about them?
- What are the patterns of problems in your company that never seem to get fixed? Who’s fault is that?
- Do you know how to hold your key leaders accountable for their highest level of leadership and performance?
- Are you taking time to plan and think?
- How well are you doing staying away from managing?
- What needs to change in your corporate culture and do you know how to bring that change about?
- Where do you need to develop as a leader?
- Are you leading yourself well?
- Do you know your stress triggers and how to manage your stress?
- What do your employees think of your vision, the company, and the culture of the company?
- We develop metrics to measure progress on each coaching objective.
Boards / Teams
Teams that work well together are the ones that make ongoing efforts to better understand and communicate with one another.
High performing teams are the direct results of intentional training.
Over the years we have worked with over a hundred teams in for-profit and nonprofit sectors, teaching them about self-leadership and improving their collaborative skills.
Some of our common coaching topics are:
- Do you know how to lead yourself well?
- Do you know your uniquenesses and do you know how to communicate with those who work with you?
- Do you understand the person working beside you and do you know how to bring out their best?
- What are the best practices of high performing teams?
- What metrics do you need to be using to evaluate the quality of teamwork?
Leaders / Managers
Leaders and managers have unique coaching needs because they have responsibilities that involve leading and managing people. In addition to focusing in on their self leadership needs, we also take a look at their knowledge and core skills required for effective leadership and management.
Some of our common coaching topics:
- Are you a leader or a manager? What’s the difference?
- Are you leading yourself well? How do you know?
- How effective are you at managing your time?
- Do you know how to motivate others?
- Do you have a coaching strategy for each of your direct reports?
- What leadership and management skills are you best at? Which ones need the most work?
- How are you receiving feedback on your leadership and management effectiveness?
- How effective are you at leading meetings?
- Do you know how to work with others?
- Are you using assessments to better understand your key people?
- How good are you at holding others accountable and what do those conversations look like?
- What is your communication strategy?
- What is your plan for continuing education as a leader or manager?
- We develop metrics to measure progress on each coaching objective.
Physicians / Surgeons
Physicians and health care professionals have unique coaching needs because their industry is in a constant state of change, and most of their training has not prepared them for challenges they are facing.
Not only do they face the highest standards for clinical care but also they are responsible for proper care and respect of their fellow employees. Additionally, they must work with software systems that are in a perpetual state of updates.
Our coaching focuses in on stress management, people skills, and care of self. We have developed a Physician coaching program that addresses a multitude of issues ranging from simple improvement as a professional to intense coaching for disruptive Physicians.
